While e-books may someday replace paper books entirely, e-books will never satisfy the pleasure a bibliophile gets from the weight, smell and feel of a physical book.
Luckily, long after paper books have become obsolete as reading material, they can be enjoyed as objets d'art.You won't want to defile a book that you hold dear, but think of the overflowing bookshelves at your favorite thrift store or the loaded boxes of old textbooks you see at yard sales. Think of the physical qualities of the book instead of the content. Does it have a pleasing size, cover graphic, color? Are there color plates inside you may want to use for collage? There are sellers on Etsy who offer small collections of vintage books grouped by color for interior decorating. Examples:
