Recycled Rings

There are many methods of turning trash into rings.

The simplest one involves taking a found object and attaching it to a band.  The band can be a metal adjustable band purchased from the craft store, or a bit of twisted wire or braided fabric.  The possibilities here are only limited by your imagination.  In the pictures that follow,  you'll see several really good examples of this type of recycled ring.

Another method of repurposing something that's headed for the landfill into a ring is to take an object that's larger than ring-size and carve it into a ring.  Two brilliant examples from the pictures below are the #3 billiard ball and the skateboard deck.  This method will require the proper tools and may be beyond the average crafter's skill level.  You can also take a larger object and cut it down to a size that can be attached to a band, like the circuit board or piece of china.

Yet a third method is to take an object and completely change it's shape so that it becomes scarcely recognizable as its former self.  Aluminum cans cut and assembled into delicate roses, bottle caps that have been melted into each other, crayons melted down and poured into a mold, all fall under this category.

After seeing the examples that follow, I hope you'll be inspired to try making some rings of your own.
